As the Database Administrator, you will provide more advanced capabilities for the lifecycle of RDS, working with app teams and managing the lifecycle of databases. You will work closely with app teams to get them up to recent levels and provide engineering support in hybrid environments. You will communicate with app teams to navigate and resolve issues related to databases. Additionally, you will:

• Consult with teams on database deployments and upgrades
• Provide L3 database support for the Cloud Engineering team
• Work closely with the engineering team to ensure the smooth operation of database services

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

• At least 5 years of experience in database administration
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Proficiency in managing databases on RDS in a cloud environment
• Experience working with app teams to manage the lifecycle of databases
• Experience with hybrid engineering support
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Experience providing L3 database support

Great Additional Skills:

• Knowledge of other database technologies such as MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with AWS database services such as DynamoDB or Aurora
• Experience with database backup and recovery, performance tuning, and security
