As the Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you will serve as a technical subject matter expert to ensure products are designed and delivered. You will drive the day-to-day security assessments of products. You will also work with Product Managers and engineering teams to assess and facilitate prioritization of product cybersecurity activities. Additionally, you will:

  • Develop and communicate product cybersecurity requirements and perform residual risk assessments in accordance with product cybersecurity policy and methods
  • Drive and support an authoritative technical consultation process on product cybersecurity and security engineering problems across embedded electronics and non-IT networked product portfolio including connected vehicle security, secure implementation of real-time operating systems, and ongoing security support for heavy industrial systems
  • Drive and support processes to ensure products implement appropriate cybersecurity controls, features, and requirements per applicable customer requirements, recognized industry standards, and sound engineering practice
  • Lead and conduct threat and risk assessments to quantify product threat surfaces and attack vectors
  • Recommend and consult on the design of hardware and software controls, system hardening measures, and other risk mitigations to minimize attack surface and support cost-effective field maintainability of security controls
  • Conduct root cause and corrective actions related to cybersecurity defects
  • Create, seek, and share best practices on product cybersecurity across product portfolio
  • Apply knowledge of industry cybersecurity engineering practices and international standards to produce secure solutions
  • Deliver effective project management and technical communications
  • Maintain a superior knowledge of the cybersecurity capabilities and properties of operating systems, networking devices, and control system components
  • Understand technical cybersecurity concepts and their business implications and be able to clearly convey these concepts to management and other engineers

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • At least 4 years of experience in hands-on cybersecurity engineering supporting industrial environments or products
  • At least 5 years of experience in the rail, mining, or automotive sectors
  • BS in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or another STEM discipline
  • Experience in least one of the following areas:
    • Secure/measured OS boot technologies
    • Hardware root of trust technologies
    • Cryptographic code signing techniques
    • Securing embedded RTOS-based systems
    • Container security
    • Remote provisioning/enrollment of devices over wireless networks
  • Extensive hands-on experience with cybersecurity assessment tools and methods
  • Knowledge of cyber regulations and standards including IEC 2443, ISO 27001/2, and CENELEC standards
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix management environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities and adept at communicating with several levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated global leadership and strategic thinking to provide and articulate the future vision and best in class
  • Understanding of electronics and/or software development cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to understand industry trends and to grow technical knowledge
  • Demonstrated global change agent with strong credibility and ability to influence across the organization
  • Demonstrated thought leader with experience developing and executing engineering solutions
  • Demonstrated commitment to process improvement
