As the Sr Applications Administrator (Tableau), you will provide implementation, operational and maintenance analysis, and support for enterprise applications. You will apply expertise to solve problems that occur during normal application operations. You will also operate independently to take appropriate actions needed to sustain systems performance. Additionally, you will:

• Maintain a stable systems environment with minimal downtime and maximum performance
• Support analytical software and associated dedicated hardware as well as administrative support for server-based laboratory applications
• Analyze application problems and opportunities, develop recommendations, and implement solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve application-specific support issues for applications
• Support with actions, recommendations, and experienced judgment during systems recovery efforts
• Install and maintain enterprise and/or laboratory application software (including dedicated hardware), application code deployments and configuration changes
• Lead development of Package Software modification requirements and Interface Design Specifications
• Configure necessary tables in Packaged Software to support the specific business areas
• Train/mentor staff
• Provide management input and recommendations on strategic decisions
• Execute change requests and qualifications
• Liaise with internal and external customers to determine long-term issue resolution
• Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways
• Receive little instruction on day-to-day work, with general instructions on new assignments
• Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Represent the department as a prime contact on projects
• Interact with internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between functional areas
• Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
• Authorize SQL queries and author PL/SQL packages
• Frequently interact with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups
• Work independently with little guidance or reliance on verbal or written instructions and plan work schedules to meet goals
• Perform a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

• At least 5 years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience with a full understanding of area of specialization
• Detailed understanding of server administration and architecture (Windows Server, Linux).
• Experience with the use of Linux editors, editing CRON, and IIS administration
• Administrator level of knowledge on Tableau software
• Ability to interact with relational databases (primarily Oracle, some SQL Server)
• Advanced support knowledge of the applications and technology being supported
• Advanced support knowledge of desktop operating systems and desktop productivity applications (MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, etc.)
• Ability to diagnose problems and define, resolve, and coordinate the implementation of solutions with other groups
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of application problems, if necessary, working with the system development team, systems and network administration personnel, other departments, or with software vendors
• Self-motivated with the initiative to see issue resolution through to completion
• Business focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude with a commitment to a high quality of work
• Demonstrated competency to learn new technical skills
• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
