As the Help Desk Technician, you will build, repair, and maintain critical IT equipment, including desktop computers, laptops, and printers. You will perform general PC help desk duties and responsibilities. You will also work independently or as a team member under the supervision of IT management in the daily execution of tasks necessary to meet IT quality and scheduled goals of the company. Additionally, you will:

  • Build and ensure preventative maintenance, allocation, and repair of all IT equipment
  • Isolate, resolve, and follow-up with end-users to resolve technical problems
  • Perform analysis and administrative tasks in the planning, design, and installation of new and existing personal computer-based applications
  • Troubleshoot IT equipment such as PCs, wireless handheld devices, thin clients, printers, and other end user devices
  • Be responsible for the RMA and repair process for all devices under warranty
  • Prepare systems for deployment to end-users, including configuration and set-up
  • Load required software, operating systems, and components
  • Document all procedures used to fix or correct problems
  • Diagnose and repair problems following defined guidelines and procedures
  • Participate with special projects, hardware and software installations, backup and recovery procedures, wiring, and network fundamentals
  • Track and manage equipment and stock inventory to include escalating stock level replenish needs
  • Work as a team player within the company-wide IT team

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • Associates degree in business information systems or equivalent industry work experience
  • Understanding of basic computer/network concepts and terms
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of PC hardware and desktop operating systems
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to present in a competent, efficient manner in dealing with the various levels of company personnel
  • Ability to work with a team and receive direct instruction from supervisors and lead persons
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and potential on-call schedule including weekends and nights
  • Highly self-motivated and customer-centric
  • Ability to manage multiple customer requests simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize work based on department and production objectives
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and pursue career development opportunities as presented to facilitate progression and growth within the IT team

Great Additional Skills:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in a production environment
  • Experience troubleshooting PCs and laptops
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining laser printers
  • Inventory management skills
  • Network + certification or equivalent experience/knowledge
  • A+ certification or equivalent experience/knowledge
