As the Tool Maker, you will diagnose problems with molds, tools, dies, fixtures, and gages and repair, modify, and fabricate these items using the manual as well as CNC EDM and machining centers. You will diagnose problems to determine the nature and extent of repairs required and make recommendations to your supervisor. You will also maintain a record of job hours for new tools and special projects. Additionally, you will:

  • Receive and comply with verbal and written directions
  • Perform and/or produce all work and/or product in conformance with business quality management system
  • Comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • Relevant apprenticeship, technical courses, and/or on-the job training
  • Aptitude for mathematics, reading blueprints, and precision handwork
  • Ability to operate a wide variety of machine tools and precision measuring instruments
