As the NetApp Professional Services Consultant, you will deploy post-sales hardware and software installations of medium to high level complexity. You will coordinate with senior customer representatives and/or NetApp Professional Services Project Managers. You will also be a subject matter expert on NetApp, IT infrastructure, applications, and cloud services. Additionally, you will:

  • Provide project planning, design, implementation, and final “As-Built” documentation
  • Design and architect company solution sets and other custom consulting
  • Follow appropriate escalation guidelines, as required, during customer engagements
  • Maintain strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Act as technical lead when deploying large complex projects
  • Capable of training customers in ad-hoc knowledge transfer as well as organized demonstrations or our methodologies
  • Be responsible for NAS/SAN migration planning and design phase
  • Be responsible for mitigating migration runbook
  • Execute migration cutovers
  • Allocate and prepare storage to support data migrations
  • Qualify tools to be used for data migrations standard qualification process
  • Develop hour by hour migration plans for each app/share
  • Migrate data under customer’s standard/qualified migration methods in accordance with NetApp’s best practices and migration tools change control process
  • Validate data is accessible post migration per their application checkout processes

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • At least 5 years of extensive NAS migration experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field
  • Proficiency with host base migration methodology such as LVM, ASM, DAG, and Storage-V-Motion
  • Articulate in end-to-end migration solutions, with an emphasis on being customer centric and focused
  • NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer — SAN Specialist, ONTAP preferred
  • NetApp Certified Data Administrator, ONTAP preferred
  • Advanced level knowledge of several migration related products/technologies such as 7MTT, DTA, FLI, and secure copy to successfully complete configuration, execution, and troubleshooting of migration jobs
  • Knowledge of SnapMirror and the ability to manually create jobs and manage them
  • Proficiency with the following:
    • NFS
    • EMC Isilon and VNX
    • EMC to NetApp ONTAP 9.x NAS data migration
    • Storage Virtual Machine (SVM) configuration
    • NetApp XCP and 7Mode transition tool

Great Additional Skills:

  • DataDobi and/or StorageX experience
  • Knowledge of StorageGrid or Object Storge technology and NetApp Cloud Volumes
