As the ERP Systems Manager, you will oversee the ERP team and all activities as they relate to supporting the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system, including all system changes, configuration, customization, security, data integrity and support of all functional areas including finance, inventory, warehouse management, production, supply chain, procurement, project management, quality management, sales, and distribution. You will be responsible for system upgrades, working with vendors to resolve technical issues, and working with the customer base to ensure that review of new processes and testing are done in a compliant manner. You will also lead the configuration and maintenance of value-added solutions to meet the defined requirements and reporting needs of the business. Additionally, you will:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problem, manage system resources and internal user performance, and support and maintain all system environments
  • Analyze business process issues and improvement opportunities and provide solution recommendations to the business and IT management
  • Document and assist users in defining business requirements, process maps, and use cases
  • Investigate feature requests, clarify user requirements and objectives, understand software functionality, and recommend appropriate solutions to improve business effectiveness and efficiency
  • Develop user training materials and deliver end user training
  • Provide expert advice to the business in best use of all Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system modules
  • Verify data integrity, perform functional integrity testing, and maintain data
  • Fulfill ad-hoc business reporting needs and assist with interpretation of data
  • Ensure business applications comply with relevant standards and compliance regulations
  • Work with vendor(s) to document and ensure disaster recovery capability
  • Deploy code and backup restoration/refresh of development, test, and production environments
  • Manage third party vendors to ensure adherence to budget, time management, system uptime and performance of hosted systems
  • Support data exchange activities with interfaced systems
  • Partner with the various departments regarding proposed system related projects to develop an understanding of their business processes, assess end user needs, and evaluate system related projects
  • Ensure changes are managed under change control to ensure system remains in a state of validation compliance in line with site and corporate documentation and regulatory requirements
  • Understand data migration and data integration approaches and technologies
  • Work with the data management team to drive data quality and data standardization
  • Utilize expertise of application features to recommend and facilitate solutions and new features that meet business requirements and resolve questions related to process changes impacting applications
  • Provide technical leadership to develop product roadmaps
  • Assess the suitability of products and provide direction to service and software vendors, and/or IT to ensure technical solutions meet current and future business and department objectives
  • Investigate problems with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP modules, diagnose root causes, and resolve issues
  • Develop and maintain documentation of applications, including process workflow diagrams, detailed business requirements, reports, FDDs, and FRDs
  • Manage assigned projects and ensure changes conform to company Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs) and other documentation
  • Support the organization in maintaining a work environment focused on quality and that fosters learning, respect, open communication, collaboration, integration, and teamwork
  • Understand current metrics and define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support departmental and company objectives
  • Support audits and periodic review processes
  • Ensure adherence to OLAs with the business and vendor SLAs

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • 8 to 10 years of experience with business systems analysis and architecture in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industries
  • At least 3 years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics AX or 365 ERP
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or relevant experience
  • Strong functional and technical expertise with Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 or Microsoft Dynamics D365 for Finance and Operations
  • Experience working in a regulated or life sciences industry
  • Working knowledge of CFR part 11 requirements and direct experience with systems implementation in a validated environment using a Computer System Validation Framework
  • Understanding of software/system development life cycle methods
  • Interpersonal skills to form effective relationships with the user community, IT colleagues, and external vendors
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities in company requirements
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of persons in different departments
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and comply with company policies and procedures
  • Experience developing documents for business requirements and process workflow diagrams
  • Hands-on experience with design to prototype process such as requirements generation, design reviews, implementation, and validation of design
  • Experience with Power BI, Flow, and Power Automation

Great Additional Skills:

  • French fluency
  • Hands on experience implementing enterprise applications
  • Experience generating system and/or custom reports and workflows in Microsoft Dynamics AX or 365 ERP
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new processes and systems quickly
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong analytical and quantitative background
  • Self-motivated and directed, ability to think critically, and effective presentation and negotiation skills to manage a broad range of stakeholders
  • Organizational change management experience
  • Experience leading a geographically dispersed team
  • Project management experience
