As the Embedded and Web Technologies, you will be responsible for design, development, and maintenance of software and firmware for electronic control systems deployed in the railway industry. You will develop software requirements specifications, functional specifications, and software design documents. You will also design and develop high quality software products in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you will:

• Design and develop web solutions for embedded systems
• Support and enhance the entire software development life cycle
• Perform and guide the automation of unit, module, system and regression level testing on various software modules and systems
• Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions as necessary
• Accountable for system requirements review, software architecture, and design
• Follow software development processes

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, electronics engineering, or computer applications OR Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, electronics engineering, or computer applications
• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering in real time embedded software development
• Experience with developing web-based user interfaces and web-services using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with RTOS like QNX and VxWorks
• Strong experience with C, C++ programming in multitasking and multithreaded environment on a RTOS platform
• Experience working with Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS 232/422 protocols
• Hands on experience testing and debugging software, firmware, and electronic control systems
• Experience with software configuration and change management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with adjustments to priorities to meet the needs of the organization
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to articulate clearly and concisely

Great Additional Skills:

• Experience with using web dynamic analysis tools such as OWASP ZAP
• Experience with Zynq family board initialization and QNX Board Support Package
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum and TDD in an embedded environment
• Familiarity with Python, and shell scripting
• Knowledge of safety critical software or CENELEC standards and rail industry
• Familiarity with continuous integration and automated unit testing processes
• Experience with using static analysis tools such as Polaris and Coverity
