Our client provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers in the U.S. Founded in 1871, the U.S. standard-setting organization is governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories to coordinate regulation of multistate insurers.

The project involves Financial a Data Repository Application Maintenance of the software that “collects” data from all the insurance companies and processes it to send it to the government agency. This is a project for people that loves data processing and troubleshooting.

As the Software Quality Engineer:

  • You will demonstrate a commitment to quality and customer service with enthusiasm and flexibility.
  • Primarily, the objective is to be part of the testing team for a desktop application and also create test cases to test a large amount of data.
  • You will adhere to defined quality standards, best practices, and test procedures.
  • You will collaborate with the scrum team to discuss acceptance criteria and identify test scenarios.
  • You will develop test plans in coordination with product development and create test cases based on these requirements.
  • You will create new, enhance, maintain, and adapt existing automated tests as the product under test evolves.
  • You will create, update, and manage test data for use in the various stages of software testing.
  • You will troubleshoot and retest defect fixes.
  • The QA will be able to talk about test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management and develop recommendations to resolve issues.
  • You will participate in design and code reviews. You will advocate quality and lead the team’s test development, test execution, results analysis, and reporting.
  • You will assess quality trends and drive continuous improvement for processes, tools, and product quality performance.
  • You will lead the discussion of acceptance criteria and identify test scenarios with the Scrum Team.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate/advanced level of English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrable experience in automated frameworks and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of code languages (POM, polymorphism, inheritance encapsulation).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of SDLC.
  • Familiarity with API testing, REST, and tools (such as Postman or SoapUI).
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, techniques, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in automation testing frameworks and tools (such as Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, or Cypress).
  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Solid programming skills in Java and Javascript.

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester).
  • Experience with performance testing tools (such as JMeter or Gatling).
  • Familiarity with mobile testing frameworks (such as Appium or Espresso).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and their testing capabilities.
