A well-qualified candidate for the SVP-Director of Special Assets position must have a minimum of fifteen years’ experience in the banking industry with at least ten years in a senior credit officer, or special assets team leader role, and five years leading a special assets team in a regional or super regional bank. Ideally, this experience will include:
Well-rounded senior commercial credit experience with a successful track record of managing large and sophisticated commercial lending portfolios. This individual must possess a good knowledge base from which to quickly learn the operations, and culture of the bank;
Our ideal candidate will build collaborative relationships across multiple business units and work closely with all lenders to support a proactive workout strategy. Our candidate will serve as the Chair of the Special Assets committee in this highly visible role;
We are looking for someone that understands how to identify trends and customer behavior to develop policies, and procedures to support a scalable Special Assets program;
An entrepreneurial spirit with the vision required to achieve the bank’s stated goals and objectives as well as the ability to show a high degree of influence with indirect or dotted line reports within the bank’s footprint;
A well-rounded background with a strong knowledge of credit administration, credit quality, audit, SOX, and bank management across both rural and metro markets. This individual should understand all facets of special assets, credit administration, workout, risk assessment, and M&A due diligence. Our candidate will possess the necessary experience to bring Best Practices to the bank’s Special Assets program.
