DIVISION OVERVIEW

With over 200 members nationwide, our client is a leading foodservice buying group nationally, leveraging their members’ strength and unity to develop programs that enhance a distributor’s competitiveness and bottom line. Their goal is to find innovative and effective solutions to assist people and organizations address their challenges and opportunities. They are experienced in the food service industry and their obsession with helping members grow and prosper has yielded millions of dollars in savings and financial returns to their 200-plus distributor members each year.

 

POSITION PURPOSE

Our client has built an over-the-top customer service culture within their businesses. The President will continue that ethos by providing oversight and strategic direction to the achievement of our client’s vision, the accomplishment of the company’s mission and creating maximum value for their members and supplier parties. The President is responsible for the overall direction and administration of the programs and services provided by the company, as well as the company’s revenue and profit performance.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the strategic growth, development, and direction of all resources. Ensures focus on the development and maintenance of the company’s competitive advantage.
  • Oversee the development and achievement of the company’s business strategy including the annual budget, annual financial objectives, department plans for achieving the financial objectives, and the 5-year operating plan.
  • Create and enhance value-added services and programs for the company’s members and suppliers, while ensuring a return for all stakeholders.
  • Oversees and reinforces the Performance Management system ensuring linkages of individual actions with company-wide objectives.
  • Ensure continued focus and success of the company’s core-competence programs involving suppliers and distributors, while balancing the agility of the company for taking advantage of new opportunities.
  • Work directly with key accounts, providing consultation for enhancing their growth potential and maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures that ongoing evaluation is in place related to company’s programs and individual contributions and provides progress reports to the Chairman/CEO and other key leaders.
  • Ensures the programs and services are managed through and in accordance with written contracts and agreements.
  • Monitors company-wide policies and procedures appropriate to the day-to-day operation of the company, its departments and its associates
  • Oversees and manages all VP’s and Director of Administration.

     

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates as an integral member of the company Strategic Advisory Council (SAC), using these resources to advise of and develop internal synergies and to reinforce and model in leadership accountability.
  • Provide leadership in developing and articulating clear priorities and follow through on execution of those priorities.
  • Support and model the company culture of learning, coaching (development) and individual accountability, as articulated in key strategic documents and company policies.
  • Develop leadership, business and industry-related skills in others and build/sustain a team of highly effective contributors. 

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.

    Must be able to frequently bend.

    Must be able to lift up to and including 40 pounds.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Distributor background essential
  • Supplier background helpful. Knowledge and expertise required.
  • Industry proficiency
  • Previous and significant experience in key positions of management and leadership at executive levels (e.g. Executive Vice President, President)
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or related fields helpful
  • Experience with strategic planning processes and demonstrated strengths in strategy development, execution, and accountability
  • Proven and demonstrable leadership abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills at all levels (associates, supervisor, peers, members and suppliers)
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities
  • Creative, innovative developer and problem solver
  • Effective negotiator

  • Good chemistry with leadership

     

    Travel required – minimum 25%
