What You Would Do as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET):

  • Develop, write, document, and execute automated system and integration tests; including identifying and tracking issues through resolution
  • Develop, maintain, execute, and validate test plans and cases to ensure the quality of software solutions, including production rollouts
  • Execute manual and automated testing to generate test metrics and final reports on testing activities; work with project teams to determine the level of code quality
  • Create, design, maintain and expand infrastructures to support automation
  • Utilize software development skills to design, code, and implement tests: unit, integration regression
  • Triage, identify and isolate defects and issues in all environments and retesting
  • Generate metrics and final reports on testing activities and work with project teams to determine the level of code quality
  • End-to-end test planning and execution for new features
  • Review and provide feedback on test designs and test
  • Work with Scrum and collaborate with software engineering, QA, and business analyst teams to plan, write, execute, and refactor manual and automated test cases to provide story coverage
  • Perform and deliver in a fast-paced software development lifecycle with a strong dedication to a solid user experience

A Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Should Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, technical field or equivalent experience

A Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) You Should Know & Be Able to Do:

  • Experience in development and test automation experience working with a variety of programming languages, test frameworks and tools (Selenium, Microsoft SQL Server, C#, .NET framework, Javascript)
  • Experience testing web-based enterprise applications
  • Demonstrated critical thinking
  • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel - both written and verbal
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and best practices for qualification strategies
  • Ability to multi-task and stay focused and organized in a dynamic work environment with minimal direction
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with little direction while meeting deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of all of the following quality assurance methods: unit, integration, regression, load and performance, user interface automated testing, black box, white box, grey box, bug tracking systems, test design and execution
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, web architecture, algorithms, data structures, design patterns
  • Knowledge of techniques for the verification and validation of the quality of products and processes across SDLC
