ABOUT THE WORSHIP PASTOR

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and manage all aspects of the weekend service, including programming, music, production and volunteers at the Wheaton Campus while leading once a month at the Naperville Campus. This position oversees the training and developing of up and coming worship team members and leaders in Wheaton as well. Additional areas of responsibility include creative planning with the central creative team, being a member of the Highpoint Collective including songwriting and music production (as desired), and leading aspects of the central creative team depending on the passions and giftings of the individual. Ultimately, this role will assist the Creative Team maintain spiritual maturity, a culture of excellence, and shepherding of volunteers.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

Weekend Services (33%):

  • Serve as Worship Pastor over the Wheaton Campus.
  • Leading worship at the Naperville Campus 12-15 times per year.
  • Lead worship vocally and instrumentally (guitar abilities preferred).
  • Build and maintain a culture of worship at Wheaton that is accessible to all, participatory, and lifts high the name of Jesus.
  • Run efficient and effective rehearsals on Sunday mornings with the worship and production teams at the Wheaton location, providing coaching and musical direction to the band and vocalists.
  • Communicate to worship and production teams prior to the weekend and prepare to lead all musical and non-musical elements in the weekend services accordingly.
  • Manage worship related software: PCO, Ableton Live/Loop Community (clicks and tracks), etc.
  • Learn and build tracks for weekend services (in partnership w/ the Music Director), as needed.
  • Own equipment repairs, purchasing and rentals (w/ Technical Director)
  • Manage audio equipment (w/ Technical Director and Local Production Assistant).

Volunteer Development (33%):

  • Recruit, train and shepherd worship and production volunteers through pastoral care and leadership.
  • Plan and execute monthly Creative Nights.
  • Work with Central Creative Team to execute other training events/teaching sessions for worship and production.
  • Recruit new musicians, worship leaders, and production volunteers.
  • Schedule weekend worship volunteers at Wheaton Campus (Vocal team and full band).
  • Work with Music Director to train and develop volunteer band leaders and vocal team leaders at the Wheaton Campus.

Central Leadership (33%):

  • Work with Central Creative Team to strategically plan out and execute worship sets and elements for weekend services across all locations. (music, testimonies, special elements, videos).
  • Communicate and work with Worship Leaders across campuses weekly about weekend service details, as necessary.
  • Work with other Worship Leaders to plan team nights and volunteer recruitment initiatives across locations.
  • Lead worship for various events throughout the year, as assigned.
  • Assist and lead initiatives with Central Creative team with songwriting and music production.
  • Assist Central Creative team with video production and post production content (testimony videos, talking heads, promotional videos, service recap videos, sermon recordings, etc.) as assigned.
  • Oversee other aspects of the Central Creative Team depending on the passions and giftings of the individual.

Professional Skills & Experience Required:

  • 3+ years full-time vocational worship leading experience preferred.
  • Songwriting and recording experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a life of integrity and character that reflects a mature, Spirit-led walk with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Strong leader, detailed oriented and able to implement the vision of Highpoint into compelling worship experiences.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or commensurate experience.
