Saenger Associates, on behalf of its middle market client is confidentially and exclusively seeking candidates for the newly established position of Diversity & Inclusion Director. Our long-time successful client is growing and acquiring, in Southern California. The Diversity & Inclusion Director will be responsible for leading our client's diversity and inclusion strategy. This role reports directly to the CEO. He/She will work cross-functionally to identify priorities, further develop D&I strategies, manage implementation of programs and policies, track progress, and advance a strong culture for the employees, customers, and community. 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Effectively communicate and present D&I strategy and initiatives to leadership and across the organization

• Serves as a trusted advisor, subject matter expert and trusted confidant to management team and employees

• Develop training programs to enhance the employee and customer experience

• Work with Talent Acquisition/Recruitment team to develop creative ways to attract minority and female talent

• Lead the implementation of social equity initiatives

• Create a vision and roadmap that fosters change, creates dialogue and bulbs excitement about company's increased commitment to diversity & inclusion

• Develops strategies and action plans to help create a culture of diversity & inclusion and recommends to senior leadership team

• Provides diversity training to management and employees regarding diversity issues, legislation, and best practices

• Serve as company liaison with government agencies concerning affirmative action and equal employment opportunity

• Collects & analyzes data to evaluate progress toward diversity goals and provides monthly update to leadership team

 

YOUR BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE INCLUDES

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or a related field. MBA preferred.

• 10+ years in combination of HR & diversity roles

• Ability to handle sensitive and complex issues with discretion and confidentiality

• Exceptional consulting, collaboration, and communication skills

• Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local equal employment opportunity laws

• Experience in non-profit, public sector, education, or healthcare is ideal

• Demonstrated leadership skills & ability to influence across the organization
