Project Leader - Electronics (New Product Development)

The executive search firm of Saenger Associates has been exclusively retained to find an electrical engineer for a Project Leader - Electronics role, leading the early stages of the design and development of innovative new products for our global brand name manufacturing client. The position is based in Tucson, Arizona and will report to an Engineering Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead matrixed engineering teams, as well as external development firms for the early stages of development and prototyping
  • Oversee the initiation, planning, implementation, and tracking of multiple product development projects, identifying and recommending viable technical approaches to solve new product needs
  • Manage $1M plus project budgets
  • Participate heavily in all phases of product conceptualization, justification, requirements definition, development, implementation and launch
  • Collaborate withmarketing across all Business Units to help identify the most appropriate technical approaches and technologies, drive early conceptual designs and prototypes, and ensure solutions will fit within company goals and guidelines, including a high volume manufacturing environment

 NEEDED EXPERIENCE TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • BSEE, BSCE, BSECE a MUST
  • Electronics industry experience – consumer electronics, automotive, fluid control
  • Experience in developing innovative technologies for a high volume, low cost manufacturing environment
  • Exceptional knowledge of and significant work history in designing / developing electronics and embedded firmware
  • Experience with 8-bit microprocessors, 32-bit processors, analog and digital circuitry
  • High energy and an enthusiastic attitude, with a personal love of electronics
