Finance Director - Aerospace

Saenger Associates has been exclusively retained to find a Finance Director for the global $175M Aerospace Division of a multi-billion-dollar Technology Designer and Manufacturer. Reporting to a Finance Executive within the parent company, your primary customer and partner is the Aerospace Division General Manager in a highly matrixed organization. This is a broad leadership role managing the financials for the division, including accounting, FP&A, business planning, and new program development.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Quickly incorporate and add to the unique cadence of this highly matrixed organization, managing multiple priorities for cross functional stakeholders in the aerospace division and corporate parent
  • Direct annual planning, budget and continuous forecasting process
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data, including monthly financial statements; oversee specific aspects of period end closing activities
  • Manage commercial and government auditing processes prevalent in the Aerospace Industry
  • Evaluate commercial and government ROQs using knowledge of FAR, DFAR
  • Work closely with the Operations team to analyze and drive cost and margin improvements
  • Drive pace of P&L review, product and customer margin analytics, and cost center reporting

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES

  • Must be a US person under ITAR regulations
  • Have at least 10 years’ experience in finance / accounting in a global manufacturing setting within the Aerospace and Defense sector
  • Highly skilled collaborator, influencer, and frequent communicator with multiple partners and stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization
  • Successful experience working with operations to improve performance, margins, costs
  • Customer centric experience evaluating ROQs focused on profitability; experience with and understanding of FAR and DFAR
  • Involvement managing commercial and government audits
  • Prefer a local Southern California candidate
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
