We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our client's team in Albany, NY. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
Create and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules, coordinate daily field activities, and monitor progress against the master schedule
Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring full compliance with contracts, scopes, and safety standards
Enforce site-wide safety policies and OSHA compliance, creating a proactive safety culture
Interpret and review construction documents, drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals
Support scope review and buyout processes in partnership with preconstruction and project management teams
Perform daily quality control inspections, identifying and resolving field issues quickly and effectively
Maintain clear, consistent communication with owners, architects, engineers, and consultants
Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to drive project goals, mitigate risks, and ensure seamless coordination
Manage jobsite documentation including daily reports, safety logs, manpower tracking, and progress photos
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field required
7–10 years of experience as a Superintendent on complex commercial construction projects
Strong background in federal, K-12, and/or higher education construction preferred
Expertise in scheduling, construction sequencing, safety enforcement, and subcontractor coordination
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, and technical specifications
Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to lead field teams and collaborate with clients and design professionals
Commitment to quality craftsmanship, integrity, and professionalism
Local travel to job sites in the Albany and surrounding Capital Region is required
