Contract Low Latency J2EE & DB Developer

MUST be local to New York City. Hybrid schedule, at least 3 days onsite

Seeking an experienced Java Developer to design and develop a low-latency electronic trading platform. This role involves collaborating with trading and quantitative teams to deliver innovative solutions in a greenfield project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop architecture for a low-latency electronic trading platform.
• Continuously enhance platform capabilities post-delivery.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to the team.
• Participate in all software delivery lifecycle phases.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of enterprise Java development experience (JDK 11 or 17).
• Expertise in asynchronous, event-driven programming and concurrency.
• Experience with low-latency, high-throughput trading applications.
• Proficiency with tools like Spring, Apache Camel, REST API, JMS (Active MQ), SQL, and enterprise monitoring.
• Familiarity with capital markets, including pricing, trade execution, and related systems.

Education:

• B.S. in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
