Located in Hanford, CA, CASA of Kings County provides specially selected and trained community volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in pursuit of safe and permanent homes and hopeful futures. We are looking for a part-time Administrative Assistant who will work under the supervision of the Executive Director. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support. Duties include excellent customer service, greeting visitors, processing documents, entering data, managing supplies and office inventory, tracking documents, and coordinating.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Interact in a helpful and courteous manner with the public, staff, service providers, and members.
- Receive and route incoming telephone calls promptly while also greeting in person visitors.
- Assist with various administrative office duties as assigned.
- Effectively utilize computers, various office equipment, and filing systems.
- Provide administrative support for human resources and financial management.
- Ensure the office is clean and organized.
- Coordinate and communicate clearly and concisely with vendors.
- Maintain accurate, well-ordered files, and documents.
- Order and maintain supplies on an ongoing basis.
- Operate and maintain office equipment, including printers, copiers, and the telephone.
- Assist with calendar management, including reminders, follow-ups, coordinating, and scheduling.
- Open and close the office.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Valid California Driver's License.
- High School Diploma is required. (Some college preferred)
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities in an ethical manner following the organization's policies.
- Ability to organize, set priorities, take initiative, and exercise sound independent judgment within areas of responsibility.
- Knowledge and ability to use modern office equipment including a personal computer and various software packages.
Position offers a competitive salary between $18-$20 per hour with generous employee benefits.
