Central California Land Trust (CCLT) is a start-up, non-profit, community land trust (CLT) based in Fresno that creates permanently affordable housing and community stability. CCLT acquires, develops, and redevelops housing to create permanently affordable housing for sale and rent by partnering with other organizations that aim to create affordable housing in targeted neighborhoods. While CCLT is based in Fresno, over time it aims to have a Valley-wide reach. We are currently searching for our next Executive Director to help lead the organization into the future! Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for promoting the vision and overall direction of The Central California Community Land Trust; stewarding its ability to permanently increase the supply of and access to affordable housing units for all members of the Central Valley; implementing the business plan in collaboration with the Board and community partners. This is a hybrid position beginning full time in office with work from home options to follow.


Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage overall operations, including resource development, financial monitoring and reporting, staff hiring and supervision, contract negotiation, marketing, and community engagement and outreach.
  • With guidance from the Board of Directors, continue to develop and update the strategic plan.
  • Ensure the organization is compliant with all national, state and local guidelines.
  • General oversight of Construction related activities.
  • Identify and provide oversight to key technological systems and grants for the organization.
  • Develop all levels of community partnerships and manage existing alliances.
  • Build relationships across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Develop relationships with public and private funders.
  • Work closely with the Board and staff to develop annual operating budgets and tracking systems that ensure the maintenance of a sustainable model.
  • Ensure annual outreach/marketing/PR/fundraising plan is crafted and executed with fidelity.
  • Responsible for messaging delivered through website, social media, paper, press and other mediums.
  • Develop and cultivate strong advocacy plans.
  • Invest in ongoing staff development, including but not limited to hiring, onboarding, employee performance, training, career mapping, and succession planning.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.


The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A four-year undergraduate degree in public administration, public policy, business administration, economics or another closely related field required (master’s degree preferred)
  • Experience effectively working with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and underserved communities.
  • Demonstrable history of strong community connectedness, and a track record of appropriately engaging those connections.
  • 3-5 years of successful budget development and management experience in a for-profit or non-profit organization with a minimum $1M budget.
  • Background in entrepreneurship and/or social innovation to build and manage a dynamic organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of the affordable housing industry, including tax credit projects, real estate, land development, and fundraising.
  • Demonstrable success working in a hybrid environment, leading teams, and being a steward of healthy organizational culture.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities to report to board of directors, government entities, other community organizations, public relations, and potential funders.
  • Ability to stay focused on achieving results despite changing conditions and multiple tasks in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Innovation and creativity as it relates to affordable housing solutions.
  • Firm and goal-oriented leadership style that engages others in an enthusiastic way while also remaining fair and open to feedback from both staff and the community.
  • A valid California driver’s license required
  • The incumbent must reside in the Fresno Area or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance.

 

 

Position offers a competitive salary between $75,000 - $125,000 with insurance and other benefits to be negotiated at the time of hire.
