The Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board (FRWDB) is seeking to hire an experienced and motivated Special Project Assistant. If you enjoy interacting with your community and are detail oriented, we would love to speak with you about this awesome opportunity!

Under the general direction of the Special Projects Manager, this position will work closely with various members of the project team to maintain databases, entering data accurately and timely as needed for regional projects, and conducting enrollment. FRWDB is a Joint Powers Authority between the City and County of Fresno, with a business-led model to help local organizations meet their workforce needs.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • · Assist with outreach duties such as attending job and career fair events, cold calling customer lists, scheduling orientations, monitoring special project email accounts and phonelines, and screening referrals from providers.
  • · Assists in the receipt and communication of drug screen results of customers enrolled in special grants.
  • · Collect program eligibility for customers projected to enroll in special grants, assist with CalJobs applications and assign to providers for case management.
  • · Data entry maintaining outreach/cohort spreadsheets, entering case notes, opening and closing activity codes in CalJobs, and opening vouchers/payments utilizing integrated data systems.
  • · Collect program eligibility and supportive service documentation for non-local customers projected to enroll in special grants but are ineligible to enroll in their respective workforce areas.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent and, 2 years of directly related work experience in an administrative capacity in civic activities, community, employer/industry, political, and/or vocational organizations/programs.
  • Exceptional analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse economic backgrounds.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective time management, problem solving, and task prioritization skills.
  • Must have a valid California driver's license, personal automobile liability insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
