The Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board (FRWDB) is a Joint Powers Authority between the City and County of Fresno, with a business led model to help local organizations meet their workforce needs.


We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Support Assistant to join its dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Administrative Manager, this role will be primarily responsible for providing support to the Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board (FRWDB) Operations Unit.


Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide clerical support to FRWDB Operations Unit
  • Provide front desk coverage and interact in a helpful and courteous manner with the public, staff, service providers, and Board/Committee members.
  • Receive incoming telephone calls and route calls promptly; greet visitors; notify staff being visited.
  • Provide information to the public regarding agency’s services.
  • Provide vacation/sick relief for other members of the Administrative Unit.
  • Data entry and processing of client applications.
  • Maintain staff calendar.
  • Prepare documents/packages for delivery via courier services or US Mail.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and set up meetings, as required.
  • Possible occasional local errands, i.e., delivery of Board packets, and other general office duties as assigned.


The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of related work experience in an administrative capacity in the private or public sector.
  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field is preferred.
  • Fluent speaking and writing in English required, bilingual abilities in Spanish preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, and source of reliable transportation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including English Language Learners.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including grammar, spelling, and punctuation: ability to accurately proofread and edit a variety of documents.
