Estimating Manager / Industrial Construction Estimator

Join our client's growing team as an Estimating Manager. In this role, you will have the overall responsibility for creating budgets, estimates, and detailed scopes of work for industrial construction projects. You will lead a team, oversee the estimating process, and ensure successful completion of industrial construction estimates that lead to awarded projects. If you have a strong background in industrial construction, expertise in estimating, and excellent leadership skills, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact in the industry. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations and is based in Kingsport, TN.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Prepare accurate pricing of estimates, including labor, material, and subcontract items.
• Lead the team in creating proposals and bids.
• Develop bid documents and detailed scopes of work.
• Review subcontractor submittals and manage the bid list.
• Research and analyze construction and design documents to determine estimated costs.
• Track multiple preconstruction projects simultaneously and develop cost estimates for change orders.
• Attend project site meetings and interviews as required.
• Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Stay updated on market conditions, pricing, and industry trends.
• Manage, support, and assist with the training of the estimating staff.

About You:

• Be able to do the job as described.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial construction estimating.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Familiarity with software such as Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Timberline, or other estimating tools.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative, and possess a sense of urgency.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and means of transportation.
