Our client currently designs, develops and manufactures products for the aerospace, automotive, defense, energy, food, HVAC, industrial equipment, medical, marine, power generation, semiconductor, water and waste water industries. Its technology is being used in applications such as gas turbines, precision lasers, turbo expanders, electrically-assisted turbochargers, blood pumps and air and gas compressors.

Immediate Opening for a Project Engineer, Orange County, CA who can:

  • Work with business development and customers to define projects scope, deliverables and specifications
  • Plan and update projects schedule and budget and coordinate with internal teams – engineering, operations, manufacturing and testing to execute projects plans
  • Communication with customers/ stakeholders and manage the customer expectations
  • Technical ownership, oversight and review of the design, both for internal and external reviews
  • Design contribution to the core engineering team in the areas of expertise
  • Coordinate Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Work with cross-functional team members to prepare test plans and obtain approval from customers, and also work with technician to execute test plans and resolve testing issues
  • Support customers in product commissioning and system integration at their sites
  • Work with Operations, Manufacturing engineers and Quality to disposition manufacturing deviations
  • Internal and external project reporting
  • Work with business development and prepare proposals for the new projects and for the existing projects' added scope

Requirments to perform the job successfully:

  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Electrical) with 3-5 years of project engineering experience
  • Experience with electric machines and/or variable frequency drives in aerospace or automotive applications highly desired
  • Strong project management or coordination experience
  • Must have Microsoft Project experience including Project Web App (PWA)
  • SolidWorks experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the bias and dynamism to execute and take ownership
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the power of positive persuasion
  • Evaluate options, propose solutions and make decisions when required
