Immediate Opening for Commodity Manager (Irvine, CA )

Can you manage strict inventory levels to meet production and delivery times? Looking for a Commodity manager who is passionate about delivering accurate and timely inventory levels and will provide outstanding collaboration with sales, production, supply chain and all other departments to meet the needs of customer and internal partners.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Responsible for managing all commercial aspects for various metal frame components, commodities, and supply base, including but not limited to:
• Creating and executing multi-year commodity strategies to add value and mitigate risks
• Driving cost reductions to support vehicle cost targets
• Collaborate with sales, production, and engineering teams to develop accurate demand forecasts
• Develop and implement level loading strategies to balance incoming materials with production capacity
• Implement inventory optimization techniques to achieve optimal inventory turns.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Epicor ERP, and SQL tools to generate insights and reports on supply chain performance
• Identifying new suppliers (both domestic and abroad), processes, technologies and driving introduction to create value
• Sourcing of new products on time and within cost and investment targets
• Ensuring part deliveries in line with schedule
• Managing all aspects of supplier relationship
• Place daily PO’s
• Manage inventory levels
• Manage supplier quality
• Travel to Mexicali production site and Minnesota branch 50%
  

Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain / purchasing
• Experience in an applicable industry
• Enclosures, metal frames
• Strong negotiation capabilities
• Self-starter, hands-on with entrepreneurial spirit able to excel in a dynamic environment
• Strong leadership capabilities, with ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales Management
• Technical knowledge and experience are preferred
• Global Sourcing experience is preferred
