Immediate opportunity for a Vice President, Drug Discovery, who possesses:

• Deep expertise in developing and implementing drug screening platforms from target identification to clinical drug candidates at both large and entrepreneurial biopharma
• Design and implementation of ligand-receptor binding and activation assays (biochemical, cell and tissue-based binding, functional and MOA characterization) of in vitro and in vivo drug screening platforms, across multiple animal models and imaging/reporter modalities relevant to transmembrane protein interactions
• Entrepreneurial spirit, self-starter with proper balance of scientific creativity and disciplined execution.
• Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience in life sciences or related discipline with 10-15 years biopharmaceutical industry experience.
• Broad network of relevant CROs to facilitate drug discovery and strategic partnerships
• Technical expertise in relevant discovery domains including: computational protein design tools, ligand / receptor interactions, cellular transport and/or company biology involving complex tissue transcytosis or related mechanisms.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Provide scientific thought and bench leadership to the development of Company high-throughput drug discovery engine applied from Discovery through IND
• Serve as a go-to scientific leader within the company; communicate plans, progress, and results of key studies to internal and external audiences including the Board of Directors, investors, and prospective biopharma partners.
• Recruit, develop and manage technical staff to drive and support the company’s technical and business objectives.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams and joint steering committees in external biopharma partnerships and collaborations.
• Present novel research and development findings from the company portfolio to external audiences including at scientific conferences, in peer-reviewed publications, and communications with investors and other company stakeholders such as patient advocacy organizations.
• Support strategic business objectives including partnership development, IP development, corporate fundraising, and marketing.
• Serve as an exemplar of the company values and team operating agreement.

 

Position Offers:

• Base Salary TBD... $190-250K with bonus, and strong equity package
