Title:  VP of Business Development

Job Description: Our client is a software company that has developed a suite of analytical products and applications for the financial services industry. The VP of Business Development will be responsible for driving client and revenue growth by selling a suite of analytical applications to banks and financial institutions via direct sales as well as reseller partners. This does include a career path in to sales management as well. We are seeking someone with a deep understanding and relationships within the banking industry to create demand for the products. This role is pivotal in executing the organization’s strategic goals and requires a blend of expertise in sales, leadership, and relationship management.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the sales of a suite of analytics applications to banks and financial institutions, focusing on creating and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders in the banking industry. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Utilize superior presentation and communication skills to educate potential clients and create demand for products. Develop and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations that clearly communicate the uniqueness and advantages of the application suite.
  • Execute and manage Partner Reseller Programs effectively. Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, ensuring alignment of goals and maximization of sales opportunities.
  • Manage a contact base of clients with under $5B in assets. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities and trends in the financial industry. Develop and implement business development strategies that align with the company's goals and market needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent would be advantageous.
  • Proven track record and credibility in the banking industry, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this sector.
  • Background in working with small companies, demonstrating the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • An analytics background would be a plus, showcasing the ability to analyze market trends, sales data, and financial reports to inform strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience and/or interest in hiring, training, and managing sales teams. Ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve excellence.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to meet clients, attend industry events, and lead team meetings.
