Sparrow Company, an executive search and staffing firm, is hiring a Senior Accountant for one of our clients in Las Vegas, NV. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain detailed accounting records to support all payroll, pensions and benefits balances to ensure accuracy of financial statements
• Work collaboratively with Payroll, Benefits, AP & Risk Management departments to investigate and develop standard procedures for handling and reconciling transactions
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and analysis relating to account activity and accrual requirements relating to payroll, pension and benefits
• Work closely with the Accounting Manager and Accounting Director and assist with the month-end closing process
• Reconcile AP accounts and assist in the clearing of open GRIR accounts
• Properly execute controls to ensure compliance with JSOX

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field from a 4-year accredited institution
• Payroll accounting experience is preferred
• SAP experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of GAAP, FASB and IFRS reporting standards
• Demonstrated analytical skills, especially in complex reconciliation functions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
