DUTIES:
1. Performs all tasks in a safe and professional manner in conformance with plant rules, quality standards and company policies.
2. Performs work place examinations prior to working in any specific area throughout the shift, correcting deficiencies themselves or taking other appropriate action to ensure deficiencies are corrected by others or prevent other workers from being exposed to the hazard.
3. Inspects repairs, replaces, installs, adjusts, troubleshoots, rig and lift, and maintains all plant mechanical equipment.
4. Performs layout and fabrication of parts.
5. Uses blueprints, drawings, sketches, and equipment manuals as necessary.
6.Performs professional welding, pipe fitting, cutting, and heat-treating on various metals.
7. Responds to emergency call outs on an as needed basis.
8. Inspects plant equipment for defects, such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
9. Erects and maintains structural steel.
10. Lubricates equipment.
11. Effective execution of the overhaul outage plan.
12. Installs and maintains equipment foundations, Including setting anchor bolts, sole plates, frames, shims, grouting, and alignment.
13. Advises when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
14. Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, and shafts involving press, sliding, and shrink fits.
15. Operates simple machine tools such as a drill press, pipe threading machine, power saw etc.
16. If needed, operates Machinist tools including by not limited to lathe, milling machine, shaper, drill press.
17. Performs rigging of equipment or tools as needed
18. Works out of crane basket and man-lift.
19. Performs preventive and predictive maintenance.
20. Uses radio for communication as required.
21. Observes Procurement department guidelines to secure repair parts, supplies and materials.
22. From time to time directs other hourly employees and contractors
23. Trains other employees as needed.
24. Attends & participates in department and team meetings.
25. Responds to reasonable callouts as needed.
26. Completes needed maintenance record documents.
27. Keeps work area clean and orderly.
REQUIREMENTS:
Two year technical degree preferred.
