Senior Mechanical Engineer

Duties include management of mechanical engineering design projects; preparing fee estimates; coordinating with project owners, architects, and engineers; hands-on design; monitoring project expenses and time to meet budget and schedule constraints; and addressing client-specific requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical engineering projects.
- Establish specific goals for project staff members and conduct periodic performance evaluations.
- Provide technical advice and senior-level suggestions.
- Organize projects and develop standards and guidelines.
- Participate in monthly billing process.
- Manage relationships with existing and potential clients.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience (prefer 10 years). Experience must have been as an employee of a design consulting engineering firm. Additional experience working for an industrial facility would be of interest but will not replace experience working for a consulting engineering firm.
- Must have prepared drawings and specifications for construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited program preferred.
- Professional Engineer in any state. NCEES Record or ability to qualify for same preferred (minimizes time required to becoming licensed in other states).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and proven ability to complete projects on time.
- High level of attention to detail. Ability to quality-review work.
- Strong team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to research and apply new innovations and technology.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD or Revit, Trane Trace, and other engineering programs).
- Subject matter expertise in one or more: refineries, process plants, healthcare facilities, manufacturing plants, university and school buildings, municipal buildings, central utility plants, data centers, laboratories, water/wastewater facilities, controls and instrumentation, renewable energy, and/or other specialties.
- Ability to travel 10 % of the time.
- Must be able to qualify for security access authorization to facilities and data of existing and potential clients, including but not limited to DOE, aerospace, military, automotive manufacturers, pharmaceutical laboratories, medical facilities, and others necessary to sell and complete work.
- Must have completed or be willing to attend OSHA 8 -hour Safety Training Course.
