Medical Office Clerk
A well-established healthcare organization is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Office Clerk to support its operation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing files, assisting with onboarding and exiting processes, handling mail, and providing administrative support. This position requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced academic medical environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Review and organize approximately candidate files.
- Create and maintain accurate physical and digital records, ensuring completeness for semi-annual reviews, employment verifications, and fellowship applications.
- Collaborate with coordinators to confirm all required documentation is included in each file.
- Assist with onboarding and exiting processes for medical candidates, including documentation and coordination of exit interviews.
- Collect, sort, and distribute incoming mail daily; handle time-sensitive documents appropriately.
- Provide general clerical support including filing, data entry, document preparation, and file system organization.
- Ensure the smooth operation of office functions by maintaining orderly filing systems and supporting team needs.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to provide official transcripts.
- Prior clerical or administrative experience preferred, especially in a medical or academic environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines independently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Must be able to lift and move boxes of files and sit for extended periods during desk work.
