What you'll do in this role:
Directly lead a team of 2 warehouse leads and 50 hourly forklift drivers across a three-shift operation.
Plan, direct and oversee forklift operating teams responsible for the loading, unloading, hauling, and supplying functions of the warehouse operation supporting our liquid production lines and other departments in the plant.
Provide daily schedules and direction; communicate targets and expectations for warehouse tasks. Encouraging flexibility and re-prioritizing own and team tasks when needed to support different functions of the plant.
Establish associate work schedules, perform absence tracking, process and approve time off via Workday systems.
Positively influence a culture of teamwork leading through others and engaging with associates on process improvements and eliminating roadblocks in day-to-day activities.
Develop associates, interviews and recommends hiring of applicants, evaluates associate work performance, counsels associates and/or implements disciplinary action. Administer forklift training program and annual re-training sessions.
Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to analyze and improve upon key warehouse metrics that will impact performance and efficiencies and deliver world-class service to internal and external customers in a continuous improvement culture.
Create, execute and administer programs and procedures for preventative maintenance, lease programs, and unplanned maintenance of warehouse equipment such as Forklifts, Yard Jockeys, Dock Equipment, and Inventory Management Equipment.
Participate and perform investigations and provide detailed documentation as it pertains to safety incidents, including root causes and corrective actions.
Execute and enforce regulatory, company and/or plant, procedures, and/or policies.
What you'll need to be successful:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related study.
At least 3 years experience in warehouse supervision or supervision in a production environment.
Understanding of distribution, transportation, inventory control, and freight routing.
Computer skills including, but are not limited to, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
Strong leadership skills and a highly effective communicator with great time management.
The ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and/or hours within a seasonal business. Including weekends during our busy season.
Strong administrative and planning skills.
SAP and TMS/BlueJay Transportation system experience are preferred.
