Sparrow Company, an executive search and staffing firm, has an immediate opening for a Network Administrator for one of our clients in Glendora, CA.  This is a temporary to hire opportunity.

Job Summary

The Network Administrator is responsible for the set-up, performance monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of computer network and telecommunications technologies across the company.  Taking direction from the Network Manager, this individual works closely with analysts to deploy and support networking and telecommunications technologies, such as routers and routing switches, wireless access points, wireless point-to-point links, firewalls, network security devices, and VOIP telephony.


  • Provides technical expertise and hands-on support of all aspects of LAN, WAN, wireless LAN, security, VPN and telephony infrastructure across the enterprise
  • Identifies, reports and recommends improvement for operational issues un network and security
  • Supports projects for new or enhanced infrastructure technologies or services
  • Works with telecom vendors/ISP activity, including moves/adds/changes of physical circuits and porting of phone numbers
  • Ensures the environment is fully documented with network diagrams, process and procedures
  • Responsible for implementing and supporting network management tools (Solarwinds, etc.)
  • Provides timely response and expertise to problem-solving or on-call activities
  • Assists with gathering necessary information to support internal audit activities


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
  • Advanced certifications in networking or telephony desired


  • 5+ years IT experience in network/telecom support in a large, complex, environment
  • 5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience implementing and supporting systems around enterprise voice and data networks, including hands-on experience with Cisco routers, Cisco switches (Catalyst and Nexus), wireless LAN, firewalls, and VOIP telephony
  • Experience in network/telecom support in large, complex environments and implementing systems around enterprise voice and data networks - Cisco routers, Cisco switches (Catalyst and Nexus), wireless LAN, firewalls, and VOIP telephony
  • Strong technical knowledge in routing and switching protocols including TCP/IP, STP, EIGRP, BGP, IPSec, MPLS, SD-WAN, QoS, and complex routing protocol setup
  • Hands-on experience supporting Cisco telephony, including the SIP protocol, SIP trunks, and overall telecommunications administration
  • Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise network diagrams
  • Exceptional communication skills and able to work collaboratively in a team
  • Highly organized and a self-starter with an eye for detail
  • Must have reliable transportation and a current active driver license, and occasionally travel out of state
  • Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation


  • Experience with implementing cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), especially regarding network connectivity and security
  • General technical expertise across the IT infrastructure spectrum, including end-user VPN, servers, email, and storage protocols
  • Understanding of security systems, such as web filtering, malware prevention, and SIEM
  • Networking Industry Certifications (CCNP or greater)
