Call Center Agent

A well-established cement manufacturing company is seeking two dependable and customer-focused Call Center Agents to support day-to-day operations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. These temp-to-hire positions are essential in coordinating customer orders, managing delivery schedules, and ensuring seamless communication between internal departments and external clients. The ideal candidates will bring a mix of dispatch or logistics experience, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work flexible hours based on business demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Provide effective customer service by building strong relationships with internal and external customers through phone, email, or in-person communication
  • Answer high-volume incoming calls and manage or adjust customer orders with the goal of booking volume and coordinating delivery times to optimize truck demand
  • Cultivate and support a positive safety culture by promoting individual accountability, recognition, and safe work practices
  • Analyze order data, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and service
  • Dynamically adjust delivery schedules in real-time to respond to last-minute changes in customer needs
  • Educate customers on value-added products and services offered by the company
  • Leverage on-site driver feedback to enhance customer service and make informed scheduling decisions
  • Collaborate with Sales and Administration teams to ensure accurate project entry and compliance with internal processes
  • Maintain professionalism and a customer-first attitude at all times
  • Document and report daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support continuous improvement
  • Process and manage C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery) orders
  • Handle a variety of dispatch-related tasks and problem-solving in standardized situations
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of dispatch, logistics, or related customer service experience required
  • Strong geographic knowledge of the local area to efficiently route deliveries based on job site and plant locations
  • Client Services Certification a plus
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); ability to learn internal systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent multitasking and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, understand, and provide clear driving directions to job sites
  • Comfortable working with numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

Schedule:

Training:

  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Approx. 1 month)

Regular Shifts:

  • Shift 1: 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Shift 2: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be available to work one Saturday per month, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Must have flexibility to stay as late as 7:00 PM occasionally to cover for other shifts
