Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing installation support and technical service to customers, distributors, internal personnel for Tier I automotive OEM facilities, and other industrial customers. Works to resolve customer affecting technical issues in a timely fashion to maintain maximum customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
• Provides installation support and technical service to customers, distributors and internal personnel.
• Oversee installation and start-up activities of BGK Oven Systems and associated equipment.
• Coordinates on-site equipment installation activities with the customer and installation contractor.
• Handles start-up, troubleshooting, debugging, and repair of BGK Oven Systems and associated equipment.
• Train appropriate plant personnel on safe operation and maintenance procedures of systems.
• Insures customer acceptance and proper system operation.
• Assist engineering in pre-ship systems check-out and customer run-off prep.
• Provides feedback on product problems and corrective action to eliminate future problems.
Minimum Qualification
• Two (2) year technical degree (Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanics) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Conducts work activities in a safe, high quality, and timely manner in compliance with OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Excellent organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
• Works well with others and has the desire to be part of our team.
• No restrictions on travel via air and rental car.
Preferred Qualification
• 1-3 years of electrical and/or mechanical experience is highly desirable.
• Experience with PLC’s, drives, motors, pneumatics, electrical wiring activities and the ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s and software.
• Independent and self-motivated and can perform efficiently under minimum supervision.
How to Stand Out
• Knowledge of the company product line.
• Experience with designing or updating schematics in AutoCAD Electric.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens, J-Mobile, and/or CodeSys programming platforms.
• Possess knowledge or experience of coating and curing processes.
• Experience modifying mechanical parts (drilling, cutting, tapping, milling).
• Experience with electrical control panel assembly.
Travel
• 20-30% Travel.
• Ability to travel extensively both domestically and overseas.
