Job Description

Manage Global Spend Data Analytics Tool - Discover and unlock potential opportunities in terms of savings, benefits, and synergies through an analysis of the total spend paid to our suppliers (~12 B USD). Deep spending analysis structuring it in different levels and perspectives like category, suppliers, criticality, business sector, region, country, and spend relevance, among others.

Main Responsibilities

· Responsible of the global spend methodology governance (data strategy, spend organization, type of analytics and visualizations) to enhance the visibility of spend analysis, foster the strategic sourcing methodology and support the global, regional & local negotiations.
· Provide the global and regionals categories managers and negotiators with reliable, complete, and accurate data in a structured business case.
· Propose and lead initiatives and strategies to improve the visibility of the company total spend.
· To detect opportunities to Codification and Standardization Area to create the proper items in the master item catalogue enabling them for new purchases.
· Defines, builds, and distributes KPIs to measure model performance and detect deviations for triggering corrective actions to support the completion of global and regional goals.
· To act as an efficient contact and coordination point to share/exchange new requirements or issues resolution between company users and IT technology experts
· To share with the Codification and Standardization Advisor item codes technical specs for a more complete master item code description

Resources management:
· Company annual global spend: USD ~12 B
· Company potential users that can create a purchase document: ~4,000.
· Procurement item coding normative application: ~ 25 countries, all company areas with procurement functions
· Lead analytics team 4 FTEs (1 EMEA, 1 USA, 1 SCA&C, 1 MEX)
· Procurement countries scope: ~30 countries

Position Challenges

  • Discover and unlock potential opportunities in terms of savings, benefits, and synergies around procurement categories.
  • Desing and develop action plans to achieve opportunities. Strategic and tactical level.

  • To constantly remediate gaps for not coded spend related to must-be-coded categories.

  • To efficiently acts as a control point for addressing the changes and new capabilities in the system (as of 2023 is Creactives Spend Module) and the needs of cmpany users (potentially up to ~4,000).

  • To develop and maintain a global/regional network of materials and services domain experts for continually improve the overall spend analysis model.

  • To define a taxonomy for services (50% of spend is for services), as well as the categories and its descriptive structures.

Internal Relations

Regional and global categories managers
· Coordinate action plans to unblock business opportunities.

Global Procurement and Trading VP - Regional Procurement directors, COE.
· Accountability of the action plans
· Standard KPI's, reports and on demand requests

Data Analytics & Business Expert Manager - Procurement Center of Excellence:
· Feedback and recommendations to improve the Data Lake files with the spend data to increase and enhance the spend analysis categorization.

Item codification & standardization advisor - Procurement Center of Excellence:
· Provide feedback to improve the Item master categorization taxonomy.
· To share identified potential duplicated items.
· To provide items technical specs for a more complete master item code description

Internal Control:
· To report users recurrently not complying with the item codification policy

Global Procurement Negotiators - Procurement :
· To attend regional needs in terms of spend analysis and KPIs.
· Standard KPI's, reports and on demand requests

Central and Regional Processes & IT Team:
· Promote enhancement to the item coding system, collaborate on strategies definitions and implementation of new technologies.

External Relations

Third-party spend analysis technology vendors -Third-party sales and experts’ teams to establish direct contact when required for:

  • Issues resolution
  • Enhancements implementations
  • Research of new products and technologies

Position Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Skillful for systems adoption and usage
  • Mature knowledge in Power Bi, R Studio and other data analytics platform.
  • Mature knowledge of the cement and ready-mix maintenance and production processes
  • Mature knowledge of the utilization of spare parts, materials, and services related mainly to the cement, ready-mix, and aggregates businesses.
  • Knowledge in procurement processes
