Product Manager -Brakes-Open

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Marketing Product Manager is to develop plans to increase market share and profitability of their specific product lines. This individual is responsible for communicating the current performance of the product within the industry, the company, and by customer, to both Sales Account Managers and company executives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage Product Life Cycle for automotive parts.
  • Establish timelines and priorities for introducing new parts.
  • Develop first-to-market strategy.
  • Assist in cataloging projects as needed.
  • Assist Marketing with Pricing as needed.
  • Coordinate OE Sample purchases.
  • Competitive intelligence projects as required to gain market and competitor knowledge.
  • Play an active part in managing products during their entire life cycle - from introduction to completion – to ensure optimal sales results and inventory turns as it affects the company’s profitability.

    ü Provide guidance to purchasing and production planning departments in their decisions on stocking levels from initial to sell-down

  • Knowing the competitive landscape in regards to both company’s and customer’s competitors, providing and maintaining competitive analysis and market trends as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related career. Minimum of 4 years of similar management experience.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook); Inventory software; Order processing systems; Manufacturing software (MFG Pro) and Contact Management systems.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Automotive background or experience in auto parts a plus.

Ability to look-up auto parts in a catalog.

Familiar with vehicle information (models, engine information).
