A well-established industrial service company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Air Compressor Service Technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on oil-injected and oil-free air compressors, dryers, vacuum systems, and blowers. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to clients, ensure equipment reliability, and maintain accurate records of work performed. This position requires strong technical skills, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced field environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Perform routine, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on air compressors, air dryers (regenerative and refrigerated), auto drains, flow controllers, vacuum pumps, and blowers.

  • Pressure wash and clean customer equipment pads, including skids, coolers, concrete, tanks, and surrounding areas; collect and dispose of trash, rags, and unused parts.

  • Train and assist other Service Technicians as needed.

  • Set, install, and pipe compressor systems as required.

  • Apply service due stickers on all equipment that has been serviced.

  • Participate in a rotating 24/7/365 on-call pool as scheduled by the Service Manager.

  • Travel overnight occasionally to client sites across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Chihuahua, Mexico; travel durations typically range from 1 to 3 days.

  • Comply with clean-shaven requirements for mine work or other sites requiring respiratory protection.

  • Complete all paperwork, including work orders, start-up forms, warranty forms, oil sample forms, and return parts slips.

  • Communicate clearly with customers and Service Manager regarding all services performed and present options for repairs, upgrades, or additional needs.

  • Notify Service Manager or Service Administrator immediately of any incomplete or delayed jobs.

  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and parts are prepared and brought to job sites.

  • Follow troubleshooting guides, manufacturer manuals, and documented procedures; confirm all components are operating properly by test running equipment.

  • Properly dispose of oil, oil filters, oil separators, and dirty rags daily.

  • Take photos of equipment data plates, service performed, parts installed, and any spills; upload QR codes for Gardner Denver equipment and update service records on GD CC360.

  • Perform oil sampling for all Gardner Denver compressors during full service.

  • Always adhere to safety procedures and correctly use all personal protective equipment (PPE), including uniforms and safety shoes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial equipment service, preferably with air compressors, dryers, vacuum systems, or blowers.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.

  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to travel overnight and work flexible hours, including on-call rotations.

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and proper use of PPE in industrial environments.

  • Proficiency in documenting work accurately and maintaining service records.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a field environment.
