Summary: The Technical Sales Specialist will be a key player in promoting and selling our advanced painting equipment and solutions. This role involves engaging with a wide range of stakeholders—from plant-level users to top corporate decision-makers—to identify opportunities, develop tailored solutions, and foster long-term relationships.
The Specialist will leverage technical expertise to present compelling solutions, drive sales, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with all levels of client organizations, including plant operators, purchasing decision-makers, and corporate personnel. Build strong connections within the assigned accounts and local distributor network to identify and capitalize on opportunities for painting application equipment.
• Solution Development: Assess customer finishing needs and develop engineering solutions that meet their requirements. Clearly communicate the benefits, features, and functions of our systems, providing insightful comparisons with competitive alternatives.
• Presentations & Demonstrations: Prepare and deliver impactful presentations that showcase the value and effectiveness of our painting application products and services. Coordinate and conduct product laboratory demonstrations in collaboration with customers and in-house specialists.
• Customer Support: Address customer inquiries related to credit, quality, and complaints, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly and maintaining positive, enduring relationships between the company and its clients.
• Documentation & Reporting: Create and manage documentation for return on investment analyses, customer quotations, monthly and annual forecasts, and sales lead generation. Complete weekly call reports and provide regular updates to the marketing database for the assigned region.
• Sales Planning: Qualify leads and organize strategic in-person sales calls to maximize selling time and build a pipeline of future business opportunities. Develop and implement plans to maintain and grow a base of future customers.
• Market Insights: Gather and analyze trade focus information. Coordinate best practices meetings to keep the company informed about relevant product marketing trends and industry developments.
• Compliance & Travel: Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations. Travel extensively (50% - 75%) to customer and distributor locations, trade shows, conventions, and other relevant events.
Qualifications:
• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a engineering or marketing-related field is preferred, combined with 3+ years of experience in capital industrial equipment sales, particularly in finishing equipment and systems. Distributor sales management or sales experience would be beneficial. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
