Sr. Python Developer

We are looking for a Sr. / Lead Python Developer.   This is a full time permanent role and requires a US Citizen or Green card holder.  This role is also fully remote.

The Python Developer will join a team of 5 to 6 developers and QA engineers to work on system integrations. Within the architectural and platform guidelines adopted by the company, and the company standards and policies, the Python Developer has broad technical responsibilities and the authority to make concrete decisions on the technical design, performance, architecture, scalability and maintainability of the software they deliver.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review software requirements and interact with Business Owners to ask questions and formulate solutions
  • Test code and interact with QA engineers to validate, quantify, document, and fix issues
  • Perform code reviews, pull requests, and security checks
  • Document features, compile release notes, write testing procedures, and similar as part of the software life cycle process
  • Work with SDLC management software to manage work pipeline, provide estimates, updates to status, and comments/hours logged
  • Review, learn, and propose new technology components to maintain software market leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking) and able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • 3-5 years Python Development
  • Experience with data analytics to produce aggregate reporting and “single-pane-of-glass” dashboards
  • Familiarity with writing and consuming APIs for integrating data from disparate sources
  • Understanding of Mongo/NoSQL document databases, previous integration experience preferred
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols, firewalls and load balancing
  • Willingness to learn new things and self-confidence to ask questions about anything
  • Ability to understand, document, estimate, and prioritize feature requirements and communicate clearly any technical and performance trade-offs when architecture decisions are called for
  • Willingness to work with a Scrum team using tools such as Jira, Confluence, BitBucket

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated prior experience with the following will significantly enhance the candidate's position:
  • Prior API integration experience
  • Prior experience with large databases – both transactional and analytics
  • Demonstrable experience with automation tasks using NLP/ML/AI, for example:
  • Using ML/AI technologies to automate manual information gathering and data analysis tasks
  • Familiarity with ML/AI technologies such as neural networks, TensorFlow, and
  • Prior experience using distributed worker queues


  • Completed Computer Science, or equivalent, 4-year degree from and accredited University or 3+ years professional experience
