Reporting to the Energy Western Canada Operation manager, the Saskatchewan’s Energy Division Manager has responsibility for the regional operation, from business development to overall execution, operational management and delivery of Energy projects across the region.
The ideal candidate will have a technical background within the Energy/Utility business with a proven track record in business development within this market.
This is a leadership role requiring excellent customer service acumen in order to support challenging situations along with sound commercial judgement and management skills as well as entrepreneurial ability. Working as a part of the senior management team within the Energy group, the Saskatchewan Energy Manager will be expected to positively contribute to the strategic direction, performance, growth and profitability of the business and define and implement new strategic initiatives as required.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
? Define, implement and maintain appropriate operating standards and principles across the business to maximise synergy, sharing of best practice and commercial benefit
? Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organisation from inquiry to delivery.
? Build excellent working relationships with key internal and external clients; manage expectations and conflicting requirements with integrity, openness and professionalism
? Continually seek to improve on performance levels by taking advantage of new technology and anticipating changes in Market practices, industry trends, process trends
? Drive implementation of best practices across contracts by establishing performance metrics that promote excellence and best practices
? Manage the Business Development team to support the operational strategy.
? Attend monthly energy sector meetings reporting on strategic plans, providing
o KPI status, service delivery and Operations performance for the region.
? Interrogate performance metrics for existing contracts, in conjunction with the senior management team to evaluate existing profitability, risk and establish whether we are fulfilling our contractual obligations
? Support the PM team to resolve contractual issues on existing contracts, acting to identify and mitigate actual and/or potential problems
? Develop a culture of teamwork, resilience and high performance, ensure all employees are maximising their potential
? Develop and maintain the image and perception of the business and ensure it is known both internally and externally for its exceptional service.
? Be responsible and accountable for the region's financial results including control, monitoring and management of overhead cost, expenditure, invoicing, debt management and risk management.
? Develop and maintain close business relationships with clients' senior operational personnel and management teams to align delivery requirements / standards with client expectations
? Ensure that all personnel comply with Health, Safety and Quality regulations and policies and where possible exceed industry standards
? Effective management of risk consistent with the risk profile
? Travel as required to project sites and meet with clients during the lifecycle of the project
Minimum Qualifications Requirements
? Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business
? Relevant global experience
? 15 years minimum team management experience
? 10 years of experience within the Energy/Utility market
? Excellent leadership, positive attitude and communication skills
? An entrepreneurial approach and the ability to take on challenges in a changing environment.
? Ability to work with remote partners and team members;
? Maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and other employees;
? Available for occasional travel (mostly within Canada);
