Job Summary

We currently have an opening for a HR Manager with our client, a growing property developer and manager, based in Toronto. The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for all human resources activity for the organization, including human resources strategy, full-cycle recruitment, terminations, employee relations and health and safety.


  • This individual will sit in the Toronto office and report to the North America Head of Human Resources.
  • The successful candidate will be bi-lingual in English and French,
  • able to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
  • Act as the local HR expert for both Montreal and Toronto offices
  • Support all first level questions and concerns for staff
  • Maintain employee relations
  • Conduct new hire orientations and employee relations counseling
  • Oversee terminations along with conducting exit interviews
  • Manage recruitment efforts for all personnel, including writing and placing job ads
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and province requirements
  • Process complaints, conduct investigations and maintain records
  • Maintain company directory and other organizational charts
  • Perform benefits administration and minimal HRIS support
  • Recommend new policies, approaches, and procedures
  • Translate documents and manuals from English to French, and vice versa
  • Support health and safety committee including WSIB claims and health and safety trainings
  • Maintain and revise the company’s handbook on policies and procedures
  • Assist the Head of Human Resources with other ad hoc HR daily tasks
  • Complete administrative and generalist tasks as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Benefits administration and compensation management experience and/or payroll experience is preferred
  • Three plus years of HR experience with an emphasis on coordinating projects and employment relations
  • Bilingual, fluent in both English and French (written and verbal) is preferred
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple high-volume priorities
  • Able to handle data with confidentiality
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Data analytics experience is required
  • Able to anticipate potential issues and work to resolve them
  • Able to work well independently with limited supervision
