Position Overview:

We’re seeking a skilled Survey Party Chief to join our Michigan team. This role involves working with Survey Project Managers and licensed Surveyors to plan and execute survey projects, manage a survey field crew, and conduct essential fieldwork for a variety of clients. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, and Construction Staking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee a survey crew to complete fieldwork accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct various types of surveys including Boundary, Topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and Construction Staking using GPS and robotic Total Station.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project requirements are met.
• Maintain and care for survey equipment, ensuring it is safe, operational, and calibrated.
• Train new field personnel and promote a safety-focused work environment.
• Collaborate with survey and engineering teams to evaluate project needs and recommend innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 3+ years as a Survey Party Chief.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in GPS and robotic Total Station equipment. Experience with Trimble equipment, AutoCAD, and Carlson Survey is preferred but not required.
• Education: Formal survey coursework or seminar participation is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with self-motivation and a willingness to travel as required.
