Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) – Survey Department Lead

Location: Willow Grove, PALicensure Required: PA PLS (NJ license a plus)

About the Role

We are seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead our Survey Department and play a key role in the continued growth of our firm. This position is ideal for a collaborative, team-oriented surveyor who enjoys mentoring others, managing projects, and delivering high-quality work without unnecessary bureaucracy or ego.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Oversee and manage the Survey Department and its staff
  • Plan workloads, schedules, and staffing to meet project demands
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor to survey team members
  • Review, sign, and seal survey deliverables
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Prepare and support proposals and project scopes
  • Perform or oversee boundary analysis and calculations
  • Review title documentation and coordinate resolutions
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients
  • Provide limited CAD support when needed

  • Boundary and Topographic Surveys
  • Construction Layout and As-Built Surveys
  • Condominium and land development documentation
  • Technology & Tools
  • You’ll work with modern survey equipment and software, including:
  • Leica high-definition scanning systems
  • Drone (UAS) platforms
  • Robotic total stations and GPS/GNSS equipment
  • AutoCAD (AutoCAD 3D a plus)
  • Trimble Business Center and related software

What We’re Looking For

  • Active Pennsylvania Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
  • Proven experience managing projects and supporting survey staff
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to balance technical oversight with leadership responsibilities

Nice to Have

  • New Jersey PLS license
  • Philadelphia-area project experience
  • Experience with scanning, LiDAR, or UAS workflows
