What we’re looking for
This client is seeking an experienced Director of Acquisition & Retention Marketing, who is passionate about building a product that businesses and freelancers love.

You will lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution across all paid marketing channels in addition to owning customer retention. Become part of our ambitious startup team and create experiences that will improve the work lives of millions of people all over the world.

What You'll Do
Develop, implement, and own the customer acquisition strategy, budget, and results including growing new customer acquisition week over week, driving low CAC across all paid channels, and working with the executive team to develop compelling customer value propositions

  • Serve as the key point of contact when working with our outside Digital Agency for both strategy and execution
  • Own the ideation, prioritization, & execution of all marketing optimization levers
  • Define the retention marketing vision and scale the email program to drive customer revenue, customer engagement, and customer lifetime value through segmentation + email trigger communications
  • Rigor in reading and reacting to channel performance and engagement trends by leveraging insights for desired business goals
  • Partner with technology, data analytics, and product teams to develop and implement proper site and mobile tagging, data (cookie) structures, marketing tech stack - as well as to evolve the user experience on-site that will optimize conversion
  • Implement marketing best practices and collaboration processes that align directly with Product, Data, Engineering, and other Marketing teams
  • Regularly report to exec staff on progress towards goals and participate in discussions about company strategy and business performance management

Who You Are

  • 8+ years experience at a high growth B2C or SaaS company with a focus on leading performance marketing across paid search paid social, display, and email
  • Experience driving the overall marketing strategy from forecasting, budgeting, and planning--to resource allocation, prioritization, campaign execution, optimization, and reporting with a proven track record of successfully acquiring customers
  • Passion for customer lifecycle marketing and driving business results
  • Experience managing full-funnel growth analytics including A/B testing, channel effectiveness, and LTV/CAC analysis - you are quantitative by nature and make decisions supported by data
  • Strong analytical ability and excellent communication skills to build and communicate your strategy
  • Experience building a data-driven culture (and the necessary infrastructure) at a high-growth startup distilling complex analyses into easy-to-consume business insights.
  • Strong project management and process development capabilities
  • Comfortable with building from scratch, building upon existing frameworks and giving form to ambiguity
  • Ability to put yourself in the shoes of your co-workers + customers and use empathy to actively listen and understand their unique needs
  • A proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Hard-working with a "no task is too small" attitude
    BS/BA in business administration, marketing, communications or relevant field; MBA preferred

Salary Expectations: $150,000 - $160,000/base++
