Structure Resources is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity with a nationally recognized electrical contractor. This award-winning design-build firm delivers complex infrastructure projects across commercial, industrial, and mission-critical markets and is expanding its commissioning group due to sustained national growth.
This role is ideal for a hands-on electrical commissioning professional who enjoys working in the field and has deep experience with power systems startup, testing, and system integration. The Electrical Commissioning Engineer will support and execute commissioning activities for critical electrical infrastructure, ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operating in accordance with design intent, safety standards, and owner requirements.

What They’re Looking For:
3–5 years of experience executing electrical commissioning activities in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical environments
Strong technical expertise with HV substations, MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, RPPs, and busway
Working knowledge of commissioning plans, startup procedures, system integration, and functional performance testing
Experience coordinating with project stakeholders including GCs, electrical contractors, vendors, and owner teams
Willingness to work on-site approximately 75% of the time across regional and national projects
Solid understanding of NFPA 70E, OSHA 10, and electrical safety best practices
Proficiency with documentation, test reports, checklists, and commissioning software/tools (Bluebeam, CAD, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
Bonus Qualifications:
Experience commissioning data centers or other mission-critical facilities
Familiarity with ECx documentation, integrated systems testing, and final turnover packages
Ability to troubleshoot electrical system issues during startup and testing phases
Experience supporting owner training and operational handoff
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
