A highly respected Midwest law firm has engaged SuiteSpot Executive Search, LLC to assist in its search for an Estate Planning and Administration Attorney. Reporting to the Practice Group Chair, this is an exempt salary position located in Indianapolis, IN. The Position: The Estate Planning and Administration Practice Group wishes to add a Senior Associate, Partner or Of Counsel to its thriving practice. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in estate planning and estate and trust administration in a law firm environment. The Essentials: Provide legal consultation to clients on estate planning and estate and trust administration matters across the full socio-economic spectrum, educating clients about estate planning options and developing customized strategies to meet unique client needs; Manage the administration of trusts in accordance with trust terms, including asset management and distribution; Draft and explain legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney and other estate planning documents; Oversee the probate process, including filing necessary court documents, validating wills, and ensuring the lawful distribution of assets; Advise clients on gift, estate, generation-skipping and tax implications and strategies related to their estate plans; Work closely with financial advisors and accountants to ensure comprehensive planning; Work closely with other attorneys, both within and outside the firm, as well as with paralegals and other staff to collaboratively manage an ample client load; Serve as a liaison between the executor/trustee and beneficiaries, providing updates, addressing inquiries, and advising on dispute resolution among beneficiaries, executors, or trustees as needed; Develop and maintain client relationships, providing updates and modifications to estate plans as needed; Exhibit sound and timely billing practices; Maintain active membership with Indiana Bar, complete all required Continuing Legal Education requirements, follow the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct, and adhere to all requirements of the Firm’s professional liability insurer; Remain current with changes in probate, estate and trust laws and best practices; Participate in client development activities, including individual and Firm-sponsored activities with peers and supervisors; Maintain and cultivate services for existing clients and actively pursue new client business, and; Demonstrate the highest level of commitment to the Firm, the Bar and the community. The Candidate: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six years of experience as an estate planning and estate and trust administration attorney within a law firm setting. The successful candidate will be highly organized, exercise exceptional attention to detail, and demonstrate sensitivity to clients’ emotional and personal needs. He/she will additionally possess: Good standing status with the Indiana Bar; Excellent client-service attitude and strong work ethic; Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Strong sense of ethical judgment, integrity and responsibility in handling clients’ sensitive and confidential information; Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with clients, beneficiaries and professional partners; Strong legal research, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; Ability and willingness to train, mentor, and develop junior team members; Ability to meet internal and external deadlines, and to work effectively independently or in a team environment with all personnel levels within the Firm; Commitment and ability to support senior attorneys to best serve client needs and drive business development; Professionalism, discretion and a stellar reputation within the legal community.
