Information Security Analyst

Summit Technologies has an open position for an Information Security Analyst. In this position, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving security incident response processes, tools and systems. This on-site position is located in Washington, DC and requires a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a wide variety of tools such as Splunk, Fire Power, Symantec to identify, prioritize, and manage potential security incidents.
  • Ensure System Support needs are met for certification & accreditation, system implementation, operation & maintenance, and IA compliance.
  • Engineer, implement, and enforce technical and administrative security measures and processes to ensure all systems achieve and maintain government compliance.
  • Assist with providing security solutions to optimize performance and ensure security measures are optimized.
  • Install, configure and maintain network equipment such as switches, end point protection, patches, firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
  • Support the Information Systems Certification and Accreditation process.
  • Ensure the proper protection or corrective measures are taken when an incident or vulnerability is discovered.
  • Respond to security incidents and investigate and report security violations and incidents.

Experience & Skills:

  • At least two (2) years relevant Information Security experience.
  • A solid understanding of IT Security concepts to include security operations, incident handling & response, security engineering, and vulnerability & patch management.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking (LAN, WAN, DMZ) systems
  • Experience in Operational Security & incident response with tools such as Sourcefire IDS/IPS, Antivirus, Vulnerability Scanners, and SIEM.
  • Familiarity with NIST and federal standards such as OMB & FISMA.
  • Certification and accreditation experience desired.
  • Knowledge of network security, current information security threats and incident management concepts and practices.
  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills, to interface with clients and stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work with team members and other groups, work with competing priorities, and possess strong customer focus.

 Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of additional Information Security related experience may be substituted.
  • Must have one of the following security certifications: CEH, CISSP, GPEN, GWAPT, GXPN, GWEB, GSSP-JAVA, or GSSP-.NET

Security Clearance:
