Summit Technologies, Inc. has an opportunity for a full-time IT Project Manager with Banking and/or Finance background.The successful candidate will be part of our client’s PMO providing project management of various projects.This on-site position is located in Hartford, CT.

Responsibilities:

• Manage projects from initiation through delivery and close.
• Creates, manages and executes project plans.
• Ensures the establishment of scope and priorities, management of risks/ issues/dependencies, implementation of solutions, and change management activities.
• Conduct a kick-off meeting with all key stakeholders in order to announce the start of the project, and review the overall project plan and gain consensus.
• Fosters the highest level of commitment among co-workers through transparent and clear direct communication about business challenges, successes, and results.
• Act as a liaison between IT and the business user community to manage expectations, scope, and schedule.
• Write business use cases and technical specifications for the development staff as needed.
• Provide support during the transition between project work and ongoing production support as needed.
• Make a presentation to management on project updates and expected results.
• Provide documentation as needed to meet department policies/standards.

Experience & Skills:

• Total of 8+ years of progressive work experience, with 3 years, as a Project Manager, Project Coordinator or Project Technician in a banking or finance services organization.
• 2+ years of analyzing business process experience a plus.
• A solid understanding of Waterfall and Agile Methodologies.
• Demonstrated understanding of the technical architecture of information systems.
• Skilled in managing multiple small projects to individual multi-million dollar project.

• Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities required.
• Strong organizational skills, proven analytical, planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills required.
• Ability to collaborate with supporting resources across business and/or functional lines experience desired.

Education & Certification:

• A Bachelor’s degree.
• A PMP certification preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Project, MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint required.
• Clarity of other PPM tool experience a plus.
