Application Developer I (Direct Hire) Description
Under the direction of the Team Lead, the Application Developer I is responsible for providing solutions to business problems, as well as enhancements and maintenance for existing systems. This job must be able to manage several tasks on multiple projects simultaneously and is expected to have basic knowledge of development tools, work well individually and in a team environment, and have a willingness to learn.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Performs bug fixes, maintenance, and enhancements of existing software systems.
2.Develops code to meet project specifications as dictated by provided requirements and design.
3.Verifies that code and SQL written is correct according to specification through testing and the execution of test plans.
4.Interacts with customers to elicit requirements and completes design for projects.
5.Collaborates closely with other developers and staff on projects.
6.Creates and maintains project related documentation as requested.
7. Prepares presentations / emails for projects for a variety of internal and external staff to assist in the development of user guides and process manuals for system users and the training of the system users.
8.Responds to service requests and support calls in an appropriate way to provide needed observation and documentation of the request, assesses response level needed, performs escalation if needed, and resolves requests and support calls as needed.
9.Ensures that systems comply with established quality standards and meet customer requirements.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Management Information Systems, or related field is not required for this position however is a plus. Enrollment in a college program in one of these fields or related work experience is preferred at minimum.
•1-3 years of experience in an entry level (at minimum) software development position role is preferred
•Basic proficiency in VB.NET, C# and VB6 coding languages are highly preferred
•Basic proficiency in SQL Server query, stored procedure and function construction is highly preferred
